Purple Purse 2018
Oct 2 @ 12:00 pm – Oct 31 @ 1:45 pm

What is Purple Purse?

Purple Purse is an online fundraising competition. Agencies across the country compete to earn the most donations and complete challenges to earn bonus cash prizes. The agency that receives the most donations also wins the $100,000 prize!

Where does the money go?

100% of donations received on our campaign page goes directly to Women In Need. Allstate is also giving away $265,000 in cash prizes, including the grand prize of $100,000 to the agency who raises the most.

Can I give WIN cash or a check for Purple Purse?

Unfortunately, no. Purple Purse is an online fundraiser and all donations toward the event must be made through our campaign page. Click on the button below to go to our page.

Can I raise money for WIN?

Yes! If you go to our campaign page, you can click Join Team. Friends, family, and co-workers can then donate to your team without you having to worry about collecting any monies! All donations your team receives will come directly to WIN.

What are the challenges?

Each week there will be a challenge where WIN can earn extra prize monies. Here is a list of each challenge!

STOP Training 2018

Presented by Kevin McNeil

Sponsored by Women In Need, Inc.

Kevin McNeil is a Motivational Speaker, abuse activist, and the CEO of the Twe12e Project, an organization that educates the world on the effects of abuse on individuals, families, and communities. Kevin’s passion is to help others heal from the effects of abuse. He is a renowned speaker who shares lessons from his own life experiences that transform, motivate, and inspire an individual’s mindset and potential. As a consultant, Kevin’s mission is to “motivate change in the world through abuse education,” and his vision is to “create a better tomorrow for today’s children.”

Kevin retired from the DeKalb County Police Department after 20 years. He served twelve years as a Special
Victims Unit Detective, and eight years as a Police Officer. His training and attention to detail helped him
solve several high-profile serial rape cases in the Atlanta area. Kevin’s background coupled with his
extensive research on trauma and the effects of abuse, defines and differentiates his message. He travels
across the country speaking on topics relevant to Child Advocacy Centers, Police Departments, Department
of Family and Children Services, District Attorney’s Offices, athletic organizations, schools and universities,
parents and foster parents, as well as community members. Kevin has appeared on numerous radio,
television, and podcast programs, and has been featured in several magazine articles.

In addition to law enforcement training, Kevin obtained his Master of Divinity Degree from the
Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He is the author of six published books, several
of which empower others to live out their God-given purpose. Kevin’s talks reveal a positive, practical, and
strategic approach to support others in realizing their biggest dreams and potential. He motivates
individuals to draw closer to their strength through his books, workshop trainings, business coaching,
character refinement, and with honest, confident, and respectful communication.

Virtual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 2020
Sep 3 @ 12:00 am – Sep 14 @ 12:00 am

Please join us for our 8th Annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes Virtual event!

Every year in the U.S., an estimated 12 million men and women are victims of rape, physical violence and stalking by an intimate partner. We are walking 12 miles in 12 days to honor those victims. In other words, we’re walking a mile a day!

Register for our walk and set your goal of walking one mile a day. Also set a fundraising goal! Every penny you raise goes directly to Women In Need to help us provide services for victims in Franklin and Fulton Counties. Plus, you’ll earn some cool prizes!

Anyone can register for this event, and registration is pay-what-you-want by donation. By registering, you’ll also get set up with your own fundraising page that you can share!
Starting Thursday, September 3rd through Monday, September 14, track your steps with ChallengeRunner. Aim to get at least 2,000 steps a day.
At the end of the challenge, the person who gets the most steps will win a gift basket full of awesome goodies! Those who participate in fundraising/donating will also win some cool prizes based on how much they raise.
Prize tiers (prizes are cumulative):
-$10 to $24- WAM 2020 mask
-$25 to $74- WAM 2020 t-shirt
-$75 to $99- WAM water bottle
-$100 to $199- WAM tote bag
-$200 to $299- Entry to win GrubHub and Doordash Gift card bundle
-$300 to $399- Entry for quarantine-themed prize basket (fun games and goodies you can do from the safety of your own home)
-$400 to $499- Entry for fitness tracker drawing
-$500 plus- Entry for tablet drawing
*If you previously registered before when the walk was to take place in-person, please know that your registration will still count towards the virtual event.*
Thank you for being patient with us as we work to navigate the best way to host this event while ensuring the safety of all participants, volunteers, and staff. We sincerely hope to see you in-person again for the walk next year!

Collecting Donations

Walkers and Supporters are highly encouraged to collect donations for the walk. All donations and proceeds from this event go directly to Women In Need to help continue to provide essential services in Franklin and Fulton counties.

This year, there are two ways to collect donations!

You can also collect donations in-person using our Donation Collection Form. Click on the image to download the form.
