This year, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is coming to Waynesboro for the very first time!

Register as an individual walker or as a team of up to 4 members. Have more than 4 people? Create different teams and make it a challenge!

You also have the option of registering as a walker, supporter, or a student. All registrations come with a Walk a Mile t-shirt. Walker registration is for males only and also includes rental of red high heels. Supporter registration is for women or men who are not able to wear heels but still want to participate. Student registration is for students aged 17 and under and comes with rental of red high heels for males. See registration fees below:

All donations stay local at Women In Need to help us provide services free of charge to victims of domestic and sexual abuse in Franklin and Fulton counties.

The walk will begin at Mainstreet Park and go to Potomac Street and back. If WIN’s high heels were rented, they can be returned back at the park.

The concert will be at Mainstreet Park from 7pm-9pm.

Join us for Bingo at the American Legion! All proceeds benefit Women in Need Inc. of Franklin and Fulton Counties. Doors open at 11am. Lunch will be served at 12pm and Bingo will begin at 1pm.

To purchase tickets, call our office at 717-264-3056. OR follow the directions below to buy tickets online!

1. Go to our “Donate” page here.
2. Fill out your personal information (name, address, etc.)
3. Choose a donation amount that corresponds with how many tickets you would like ($25 for one ticket, $50 for two tickets, etc.)
4. In the “Designation” section, write “Bingo Tickets.”
5. In the “Comments” section, specify how you would like to receive your tickets – either pick them up from our office or have them mailed to you.
6. Click “Make Donation”

Looking for volunteer opportunities? On April 18th, the next training session for Women in Need volunteers begins! This training is for Counselor/Advocate Volunteers and Community Volunteers.

• 65-hour certified counselor/advocate training
• 3-hour mandated reporter training
• 5 hours of practicum

• 20-hour training
• 3-hour mandated reporter training
• 5-hour education program training

Mark your calendar for May 5th, 2023, for our next Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event!

You know the old adage, “you don’t know what someone is going through until you walk a mile in their shoes.” This event brings that old saying to life! Local men and boys will almost literally walk a mile in the shoes of women and sexual assault victims by putting on a pair of red heels and walk together in Downtown Chambersburg. Through your support, we can raise awareness of sexual violence in our community and raise funds for WIN Victim Services.

Participate in 3 simple steps:

1. Register – Sign up by clicking the link below! You will receive a confirmation email and instructions on how to get sponsors and prepare for the walk.
2. Fundraise – Ask friends, family, and your community to sponsor your walk. This is a crucial part of participating. All proceeds go directly to WIN.
3. Walk – Show up for check-in on the day of the event, receive your pair of heels, and walk downtown. Tell friends and family to come watch you and support the event!

**NEW THIS YEAR: The walker who raises the most sponsorship money will win a GRAND PRIZE that includes the following items: $100 in cash donated by In & Out Beverage, $50 gift card to Liquid Art Brewing Company, $50 Butcher Bucks for The Butcher Shoppe, and a $25 gift card to Legendz Bar!
